Welcome back, it’s been a few weeks or so I actually completed season 3 a while back but I’ve been enjoying season 4 that I forgot to type up the season 3 update so here we go…..

As mentioned in the previous post we’re going into this season with no number 1 goalkeeper and whilst he didn’t do terrible only conceding 20 in 13 games it didn’t feel right, so when the season stopped early at the end of October for the world cup I set off in my search for my next number 1 Goalkeeper

Casteels became the guy, at 4.3 million it was a sensible fee considering his age but also he brings a wealth of experience to a young defence.

We bought in 2 youngsters alongside Casteels in the Winter window spending 8.5m in total on 3 players

Camara joins now for a small fee rather than free in the summer just before his 19th birthday he will spend the rest of the season out on loan.

I fought off a lot of competition to secure Zebic now he will be one for the future.

a few youngsters left ahead of their contracts expiring and Centre back Kolodziejczak leaves for 2m after losing his place in the first team.

Results picked up after the world cup and we got ourselves in contention for a Europa League spot

We got over the line and finished 5th place a Europa League spot!

Or so I thought, France have lost one of their seeded spots so its Europa Conference for us but straight into the group stages

N’Dicka with 15 goals! outscoring my strikers, Set Piece HACKZ! joking, I didn’t do much, I varied between sides and where to aim and just stuck N’Dicka as the player who would be there. He’s just a monster in the air

With great success comes Vultures! As you can see we lost our 2 starting Centre backs in N’Dicka and Moukoudi for 27.75m, Adli is off to Dortmund for 25,5m and a few youngsters left. That’s 3 starting Centre backs left in 2 windows so surely my 1 first team signing this summer will be a Centre back? Right?!

Gouiri for 23.5m! it’d be rude not too. A star player that will hopefully enhance our front line, can play anywhere across the front 3.

Beautiful man

We spent a further 14m on players for the future

As you can see I’ve tried my best to sign the best young talent available to improve my reserve team and youth team whilst keeping an eye on the future.

In 6 windows I’ve signed 6 first team players, 2 have already left for a profit, 3 are in the starting XI (Casteels, Sissoko and Gouiri) The rest of the team is homegrown or here from the start of the save. We’ve focused more on player development and I’ve certainly enjoyed that aspect.

We have a whole second XI ready to step up when needed if needed aswell. Both our reserves and under 19 sides are doing well, The futures bright that’s for sure.
The next step is qualifying for Europa league or Champions League whilst still transitioning these players to the first team.

Thanks for reading and season 4 post hopefully won’t be such a wait.
